Chloe Cullen received three degrees from Penn State University: a broadcast journalism bachelor’s, an English bachelor’s, and an English master’s with a creative writing concentration. Her thesis mixed personal essays and short stories, including an early draft of "Mary Jane." Her work has been previously published in Short Edition, Kalliope, and Penn State's "Writing the Nonhuman" contest as the nonfiction winner.
