D. J. Lee is a professor at Washington State University. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Arizona and her M.F.A. from Bennington College. Among her publications are three books and three edited collections of scholarship on nineteenth-century literature. She is working on a creative nonfiction book, Bitterroot: Memoir of a Wilderness, and an edited collection titled Personal Stories/Public Lands.
